Change for week 42 (16th October 2017 – 22nd October 2017): -3.7%

The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting a decrease Week-on-Week of -6.6% and a -4.5% Year-on-Year decrease. The weekend showed a decrease of -4.3% Year-on-Year. The Year-to-Date trend reports -2.6% compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the figure recorded is worse than last year, -2.2%.
All regions realised a Year-on-Year decrease with Northern Ireland realising the highest decrease, -11.4%, followed by the East Midlands, -6.0%. The North East region realised the lowest decrease on the year, -2.1%, followed by Scotland, -2.2%.
Only 2 regions realised a week-on-week increase – Scotland, 1.8% and Norther Ireland, 0.7%. The West Midlands region suffered the highest decrease on the week, -16.7%, followed by the Eastern region, -15.8%. The region to realise the lowest week-on-week decrease was -0.5%.
Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported a decrease of -2.6% in Year-on-Year footfall and a decrease of -3.7% on the week. The weekend showed a -1.0 % Year-on-YearBack
