Change for week 6 (6th February 2017 – 12th February 2017): -3.4%

The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting a Week-on-Week decrease of -4.8% and a decrease of -7.5% Year-on-Year, while the weekend showed a decrease of -10.7% Year-on-Year. Compared to the previous week, the Year-to-Date trend reports -3.5%, and the figure recorded is worse than last year’s -1.9%.
All regions realised a Year-on-Year decrease with the Eastern region suffering the highest decrease of -12%, followed by the East Midlands, with a decrease of -10%, and the North West of -8.3%. The Yorkshire Humber and the South East regions saw the smallest decreases of -4.0% and -4.8% respectively.
Only 3 regions realised a Week-on-Week increase; Scotland saw the highest increase of +7.2%, followed by the Yorkshire-Humber and the West Midlands, with increases of +7.1% and +5.2% respectively . The region to suffer the highest decrease was the Eastern Region, with a decrease of -23.9%; Northern Ireland saw the second highest decrease of -16.8%, while the South West & Wales followed with -16.2%. The South East saw the lowest Week-on-Week decrease of -0.7%.
Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported a Year-on-Year footfall decrease of -1.1%, and a decrease of -3.4% on the week. The weekend showed a -1.8% Year-on-Year change.Back
