ShopperTrak Retail Index – Retail Park Weekly:
Change for week 35 (28th August 2017 – 3rd September 2017): 7.0%
Change for week 35 Year-on-Year: -2.1%

Commentary
The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting an increase Week-on-Week of 3.1% and a decrease of -4.4% Year-on-Year.  The weekend showed a decrease of -5.8 %Year-on-Year. The Year-to-Date trend reports -2.7% compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the figure recorded is worse than last year, -2.3%.

The only region to realise a Year-on-Year increase was Northern Ireland, 3.8%. All other regions realised a year-on-year decrease. The East Midlands realised the highest decrease, -8.0%, followed by The South East, -4.0%. The region to realise the lowest decrease on the year was Scotland, -2.4%.

Just over half of the regions realised a week-on-week increase with the eastern region realising the highest increase, 16.9%, followed by the North West, 9.0%. Scotland realised the lowest increase, 2.1%. The region to suffer the highest week-on-week decrease was the South West & Wales, -8.5%, followed by the East Midlands, -8.0%. The West Midlands realised the lowest decrease, -1.5%.

Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported a decrease of -2.1% in Year-on-Year footfall and an increase of 7.0% on the week. The weekend showed a -4.3% Year-on-Year change.
