ShopperTrak Retail Index – Retail Park Weekly:
Change for week 9 (27th February 2017 – 5th March 2017): +6.4%
Change for week 9 Year-on-Year: +1.0%
The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting a Week-on-Week increase of +2.7% and a decrease of -4.8% Year-on-Year. The weekend showed a decrease of -6.1% Year-on-Year, whilst the Year-to-Date trend reports -3.4% compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the figure recorded is worse than last year, of -1.8 %.
Only the Yorkshire Humber region saw a Year-on-Year increase, of +2.7%. All other regions suffered a Year-on-Year decrease with The North West region realising the highest decrease of -6.6%, which was followed by London with a decrease of -6.4%. With a decrease of -2.8%, Northern Ireland saw the lowest footfall decrease on the year.
Most regions saw a Week-on-Week increase with only Northern Ireland and the Yorkshire Humber seeing a decrease of -5.8% and -2.1% respectively. The North East region realised the highest Week-on-Week increase of +7.6% on the week, followed by the North West region, with an increase of +5.8%. The East Midlands saw the lowest Week-on-Week increase of +0.4%.
Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported an increase of +1.0% in Year-on-Year footfall and an increase of +6.4% on the week. The weekend showed a +1.5 % Year-on-Year change.
