Commentary
The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting an increase Week-on-Week of 12.1% and a -4.8% Year-on-Year decrease. The sudden increase in Week-on-Week figures is most likely due to Half Term week. The weekend showed a decrease of -2.8% Year-on-Year. The Year-to-Date trend reports -2.7% compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the figure recorded is worse than last year, -2.3%.

All regions realised a Year-on-Year decrease with South West & Wales realising the highest decrease, -13.8%, followed by Northern Ireland, -9.3%. The West Midlands realised the lowest decrease in the year, -1.7%, followed by Scotland, -2.3%.

Nearly all regions realised a week-on-week increase with the exception of Scotland who realised a decrease of -5.7%. The Eastern region realised the highest increase on the week, 37.3%, followed by the west Midlands, 25.6%. Northern Ireland realised the lowest increase on the week, 3.9%, followed by the North East, 4.5%.

Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported an increase of 8.5% in Year-on-Year footfall and an increase of 4.2% on the week. The weekend showed a 2.6% Year-on-Year change.
