ShopperTrak Retail Index – Retail Park Weekly:
Change for week 21 (22nd May 2017 – 28th May 2017): +2.1%
Change for week 21 Year-on-Year: -1.1%

Commentary
The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting an increase Week-on-Week of +1.8% and a decrease of -4.2% Year-on-Year.  The weekend showed a decrease of -5.5% Year-on-Year. The Year-to-Date trend reports -2.6% compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the figure recorded is worse than last year, -2.5%.

All regions realised a Year-on-Year decrease, with the Eastern region suffering the highest decrease of -9.4%, followed by the East Midlands, -8.3%. The regions to realise the lowest decrease were the South East region & The Yorkshire Humber region that both realised a decrease of -2.2%.

Most regions realised a week-on-week increase. The North East region realised the highest increase of +13.1%, followed by the West Midlands, +9.1%. The region to realise the lowest week-on-week increase was the East Midlands, +0.3%. The region to suffer the highest week-on-week decrease was the Eastern region, -10.3%, followed by South West & Wales region, -8.8% whilst the South East realised the lowest decrease at -0.9%.

Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported a decrease of -1.1% in Year-on-Year footfall and an increase of +2.1% on the week. The weekend showed a -2.3% Year-on-Year change.
