Commentary
The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting a decrease Week-on-Week of -0.9% and a -2.5% Year-on-Year. The weekend showed a decrease of -3.0 % Year-on-Year. The Year-to-Date trend reports -2.6% compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the figure recorded is worse than last year, -2.3%.

All regions realised a Year-on-Year decrease with Northern Ireland, -5.5%, realising the highest decrease, followed by the East Midlands, -4.7%. The North West region realised the lowest decrease, -1.5%, followed by the Yorkshire Humber and the South West & Wales, who both realised a decrease of -1.7% on the year.

The Yorkshire-Humber region realised the highest week-on-week increase, 6.1%, followed by the North East region, 4.2%. The region to realise the lowest week-on-week increase was the North West, 1.7%. The East Midlands realised the highest decrease on the week, -6.6%, followed by the Eastern region, -5.9%. The South East region realised the lowest decrease on the week, -0.6%.

Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported a decrease of -3.4% in Year-on-Year footfall and a decrease of -1.4% on the week. The weekend showed a -8.1% Year-on-Year change.
