Commentary
The ShopperTrak National Retail Index is reporting a decrease Week-on-Week of -1.8% and a 0% Year-on-Year. The weekend showed a decrease of -1.6 % Year-on-Year. The Year-to-Date trend reports -2.6% compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the figure recorded is worse than last year, -2.2%.

The region to realise the highest Year-on-Year increase was the South East region, 2.0%, followed by the Yorkshire Humber, 1.8%. The regions to realise the lowest increase on the year were London and the Eastern region, 0.2%. The East Midlands region suffered the highest year-on-year decrease, -3.2%, followed by the West Midlands, -2.0%.

Only 2 regions realised a week-on-week increase, Northern Ireland, 2.9%, and the Eastern region, 7.8%, all other regions realised a decrease on the week. The North West region realised the highest decrease on the week, -5.0%, followed by the West Midlands, -4.9%. The Yorkshire-Humber region realised the lowest decrease on the week, -1.3%.

Within Retail Parks, the ShopperTrak Index reported an increase of 1.7% in Year-on-Year footfall and a decrease of -2.9% on the week. The weekend showed a -0.2% Year-on-Year change.
